Why does the lint always pile up at the bottom of a roof vent?

Gravity. A second-floor laundry room pushes 18 to 30 feet of vertical duct plus offsets up to the roof jack. The blower lifts lint partway. When the cycle stops, airflow stops, and what did not clear falls back down. It compacts at the base of the rise, elbow by elbow. That is why cleaning only from the roof cap misses the real blockage.

So the job runs from both ends. A rotary brush fed up from the dryer connection breaks the packed base.
